ACCESSORY LIGHTING

LET THERE BE LIGHT
I have had in my garage for over three years two sets of HELLA lights, one set for fog and one for driving/off-road. I had intended to add them to my last 4wd vehicle just never did it I decided to install the lights using Isuzu factory switches similar to the fog lamp switches. I ordered the switches from my local dealer at a price of $65.00 each (OUCH!). The switches came but did not include wiring instructions or the plug in wiring harness connector in the back of the switch, and Isuzu will not sell just the connector with or without a pigtail (STUPID!). At any rate, I removed the plugs that where on the right hand side of the steering wheel and inserted the new switches with my 3' long pigtail. These plugs are the rear wiper and defogger switches on the RODEO. I wired the switches so that they operate similar to the fog light switch for the fog lights i.e. fog lamps on when switch is on and the low beams are on. And then wired the driving lights so that they are on when the switch is on and the high beams are on. I used 30 amp relays to actually send power the lights, this allows me to pass as much as 30 amps (a heck of a lot more than I needed) to any off-road or driving or fog lamps I choose. Maybe in the future I will add more lights on my future safari rack or off road light rack.

A little fun with my lights
